nothornlessrose: (Holding Her Rose)
There was something going around the school and it was something that Cassidy wasn't familiar with. The psychic scents of everyone she had come into contact with were... not really strange but... it was something that she wasn't finding the words for right now.

She had tried reading one of the library books for awhile, but now she was just sighing and gazing out the window with a dreamy expression.

"Why Morton," she said in a slightly breathless voice. "How did you manage to get up to my window and surprise me like this?"

The romance book in her lap was forgotten in favor of the daydream.

The daydream was more sweet and colorful... and would perhaps go on for a little while.
nothornlessrose: (Can't Sleep)
After they got back to Fandom, Cassidy had gone immediately to her room. Out of habit, she put a Tiger-Eye shield up around the room and then changed into pajamas. For the longest time, she sat on the floor beneath the window, looking through some of her books from home. With everything that had happened this week, her concerns about holding the leash of a Warlord Prince seemed so long ago.

She would probably do research on jhinkas at some point in time, but that wouldn't be today.

After awhile, she put a warming spell on the bed and crawled under the covers. She had seen and felt a lot of things over the past few days and she wasn't exactly sure how to process it all. Besides the fact that she had met a very cranky Warlord Prince who happened to be her cousin, Aaron, and the Queen who wanted to be his Lady, Kalush, other things were not as harmless.

She was worried about Karla. She was worried about Jaenelle. She was worried about Raven. She was worried about Morton.

Mother Night and may the Darkness be merciful. She was worried about everyone that had been involved in what had happened. It was easier to just say that than to try to think about everyone separately. She didn't know all of Karla's friends that had been there, but she was determined that she would try to get to know them. Poppi would say that when there was a crisis, you should get to know everyone that was there.

Agio could definitely be considered a crisis.

Of course, she would do that another day. Right now, she wasn't thinking of leaving her room or talking to anyone tonight.

Too bad she had forgotten about the fact that a Queen was supposed to let members of her Court know her whereabouts and there was a cranky Black Widow looking for her.

[[OOC: For Shira.]]
nothornlessrose: (Among The Trees)
It was evening and Cassidy was outside wandering the grounds. She knew that they would be back in Fandom soon, and that was okay with her. However, she wasn't in a hurry to leave the Hall. She liked it here, and there were more people she wanted to meet and talk to, but she also knew that right now very few people were in the mood for being social.

She was worried about Karla, and about Jaenelle. She was also worried about Lucivar. It wasn't just the Queen in her that wanted to make sure everyone would heal, it was just who she was. She didn't like the idea of anyone being hurt -- and people close to Karla even more so.

Her usual way of doing things to settle her mind wasn't going to work here. She wasn't about to ask for access to someone else's kitchen, for one thing. Baking would be therapeutic, but she knew better than to trespass on another cook's property.

That would be how she found herself walking the gardens and enjoying the evening.

[[OOC: For Morton and open to any one at the Hall -- Kaeleerans and Fandomites alike! *is as work and could use distraction!*]]
nothornlessrose: (Walking The Land)
Cassidy had stayed in the guest room she had been shown to for a lot longer than she normally would have. She had slept some, but that didn't get rid of the tiredness or the emotions that she was still feeling after the last couple of days. Finally, needing to get out and be in the open, she quietly headed downstairs and out the doors. She was hoping that she would be able to settle enough before they returned to Fandom.

Cassidy didn't go too far from the safety of the house. )
nothornlessrose: (No Thornless Rose)
Since she didn't have an escort, Cassidy had not made any plans to go to the dance. She could just hear the things her brother would say if he found out about her going to a dance here without an appropriate male escort. (And really, the last thing she or Shira needed was for RANON to how up and be grumpy about them attending a dance by themselves.) After talking to a few of her friends, she discovered that she wasn't the only one that was missing the big dance.

She and Shira came to her room after going into town for supplies, and started setting things up. They had chocolate and sodas and a few other juices and snack items -- there was absolutely no alcohol as it hadn't occured to either witch that they should buy any.

She wasn't sure exactly what they were going to do for the night, but at least they would be among friends. She had also invited Elle because she figured that Shira and Elle needed to know each other and get along since they were both members of her Court. After the room was set up with food and drinks on the empty desk, Shira went to her room to change and Cassidy used the time to change into sleep clothes.

The door was open and some soft music could be heard coming from the room. Cassidy was sitting on her bed with a couple of books.

[[OOC: For Shira and Elle, but open to anyone who wants to see what the witchling type people are up to.]]

nothornlessrose: (Cassidy Studying)
It was probably a good thing that Cassidy hadn't been given a new roommate after Hiccup left because currently there were books and notebooks everywhere. Hiccup's bed had been pushed against the far wall and tilted up on its end and there were her two trunks against the bed and books and other things were spilling out of them haphazardly. In the middle of this chaos sat Cassidy.

She was in the middle of the floor, focusing completely on the book that was opened in her lap. She was positive that somewhere in her Craft books and the histories and the books of Protocol -- or even in her notebooks from notes while with tutors -- there had to be an explanation or guidance for how to deal with what had happened on Saturday night. She was convinced that there had to be. After all, she was almost sure that a Queen had to be higher in rank than the males of her court, and she was certainly not higher than Ranon of Shalador.

In one corner, was a pile of quills, pens and colored pencils. They were in a pile because she wasn't going to throw books when she got frustrated about not finding the guidance she was looking for.

Yes, she could have gone immediately to Karla, but she wanted to at least try to find her own answers about Ranon and the Protocol about what she had done to start forming her Court. She hadn't planned on forning a Court so soon, but she had wanted to make sure that there was no suspicion from Shira or Ranon about what kind of Queen she was and that she wasn't going to do anything to hurt them.

It was probably good that she had thought to put a yellow shield around the room -- but any one with a darker Jewel than hers would probably be able to come right in. Her psychic scent and the emotions that she was loosing in the room as she focused hard on the questions she suddenly had to find answers to.

Possibly she should have just gone to Karla first because she was really frustrated and the more she read and studied, the more confused and frustrated she was beginning to get.

Mother Night, she needed answers.

[OOC: For one. That they talked is okay to know. What they talked about is NFB right now.]]

nothornlessrose: (Out And About)
Cassidy had left her mother at her hotel room and after a long discussion about how she was perfectly safe walking in Fandom in the evening alone, Cassidy had promised she would go straight back to the dorms.

Which she was planning to do, really. She had said goodbye to her mother and left the hotel and started towards the dorms.

Only, halfway there, she heard the sounds of an argument and picked up the psychic scent of someone in distress. Deciding that she couldn't ignore someone in distress, she turned and headed down a side path towards the feeling. However, what she found annoyed the young Queen.

It was Shira and there was a male arguing with her and looming over her. Shira seemed more angry than scared, but the sight was enough to annoy Cassidy. She shielded herself and stepped out where they could see her.

"Hey! You back off and leave Shira alone."

Cassidy. Brave and fooslish sometimes.

[[OOC: For two! That she met someone new is okay. What he is is NFB!]]
nothornlessrose: (Jewels)
So, as many of you know, I work at NASA.

The last two months have been dealing with stuff for Fiscal Year End -- which is why I have not been around with any of my girls too much. For those of you that know me from the previous two YEs, this one has been much more intense. (Dealing with last minute "OMG THIS IS AN EMERGENCY" is so much fun.)

Purpose of this post? The fiscal year ends officially tomorrow at midnight. I'm sure that you can probably imagine what today and tomorrow will be like.

So, if I have dropped tags (Hi Henry!) or if I am in a post and suddenly disappar between one tag and the next in the evenings? It means that I have suddenly fallen asleep or am otherwise preoccupied with something that takes a quarter of a brain cell. :S

If I'm doing something with a character and I am silent, please poke me however you like -- NOT DIRTY!

Just know that I haven't suddenly disappeared or been eaten by work -- but that I may be hiding beneath my desk and rocking back and forth. *grins*

This mainly affects Cassidy, Chloe and Annja... though my three alumni have suffered for it, too.

Thanks!
Mylia

So it turns out that yesterday during the massive morning storm here, my cable modem somehow got hit by lightning and fried itself.

In theory, Comcast is going to come out to our house on Sunday and replace the modem and get us set up again. This is Comcast, so I am not holding my breath.

Worst case scenario? I can try to sneak in pings the next two weeks from work and until we get our Verizon stuff set up on the 28th if Comcast doesn't show up on Sunday as they promised.

I am hoping that Comcast proves me wrong and I will be back no later than Monday.

The usual suspects have modding permissions for my alumni girls, Tim has modding permission for Gwynn.

I'll figure out something for Chloe and Cassidy before I leave for the weekend. :)

Anyone want modding permissions for two girls that will probably get turned wee and furry?
nothornlessrose: (Deep Thoughts)
After her class, Cassidy had retreated returned to her room in the dorms. She was tired, but it was a different kind of tired than she had ever experienced before.

The past weekend and the days leading up to that had shocked her more than she had wanted anyone to realize. She had never felt pain around her on the level that she had been over the weekend and after she started using her Jewel to try to help the land and then the machine... well, during and after all of that, her shields hadn't shut out enough of the psychic scents.

That was part of the problem, she knew. She had used too much power and it was going to take some time to replenish all of it. She just had to look down at the still healing marks on her hands to be reminded of that. It didn't matter how much power or blood she used, she had still felt the land dying around her piece by piece and nothing had seemed to help.

It was the first time that wearing the Tiger Eye had made her feel like she was inferior in some way. It was the first time since her birthright ceremony and working with her Jewel that it seemed like she wasn't making a difference. The land continued to die and the device beneath the island continued to be broken no matter what they did.

Oh, she was beyond glad that the situation had finally been fixed and everyone taken care of and the land back to... well, she supposed normal wasn't the correct word, but it was back to being itself.

She was relieved that everything and everyone was back like they were supposed to be. It was just going to take a little bit for this witchling to deal with all of the emotional and mental turmoil that she was new to experiencing.

She wondered what Hiccup would think about it if she purchased some plants for their room. Plants were great healers.

[[OOC: For the roomie and can be open, sure.]]

nothornlessrose: (Sleeping)
We are short-handed in my office this week. Which, would not be so bad, except every system that can break has been.

So if I drop tags or do not show up somewhere, it's because when I get home I have collapsed into a bed or couch somewhere.

Hopefully tomorrow and Friday will be better... and co-worker that is on vacation will be back on Monday.

*whimpers*

And it's not even Year End yet!
nothornlessrose: (Default)
After the excitement of yesterday, Cassidy was in the living room area of her cabin writing things down in her journal. After all, even if she couldn't write home about certain things, she could at least keep a written account of her activities and adventures here, right?

There had been a lot of writing as of late as she had been introduced to all sorts of new things. She liked the difference of the cabins, but she had to confess that she missed Hiccup a great deal. He was a good roommate and he was fun to talk to.

After deciding that she would go and look for him and Toothless to say hello a little later, she bent her head back over her journal.

... and then Karla and I decided that it would be a very friendly thing of me to do in teaching the people (mostly the males) that I live in this cabin with how to play Cradle. We both agreed that it would be a lot of fun for everybody...

[[OOC: Open for cabin mates and visitors!]]

nothornlessrose: (Default)
Cassidy was sitting in her room on her bed and trying to write a letter to home about her first week at Fandom. The problem was that her mind kept wandering back to her class today. She had seen people hurt before, but never so many and never with so many different and serious injuries. It also bothered her that they had to make decisions about who would get help first and who would have to wait. Oh, she understood the teacher's reasoning, but it still didn't make her feel very good about it.

There was also the matter of how that entire place seemed so real... and wasn't real at all. Those people felt real and acted real and they smelled real. The fact that they weren't real had her confused about how something like that could be created.

She might need to talk to Karla, or maybe to Lady Ghanima. She didn't want to bother anyone, but she really wanted to know how that was done.

She sighed, bending her head over her lap desk again to try to write this letter.

[[Door and post are open. Expect SP as I am at work. :D]]
nothornlessrose: (The Shadow Queen Cover)
This is Cassidy. Lady Cassidy when formality is required. She's Cassie to her friends, Kitten to her father, and Daughter to her mother. She is probably called all kinds of things by her older brother.

A good bit of this is being reposted from my application, so I apologize to the admins for them seeing it again. *grins* This also going to quite possibly get a bit long as I am always bad about how much I should include in these posts.

I did warn that it could get long...

Did I forget anything?

I'll be putting up an info post for my other girls in a little bit.
